Biker & Motorcycle
Berg im Drautal is a perfect starting point for all routes to the Hohe Tauern, (e.g. Großglockner) Northern Italy (e.g. Monte Zoncollan) and Slovenia (Soca Valley) Nestled at about 700 meters above sea level, surrounded by fragrant forests and breathtaking mountain panorama, lies our family-run house.
Our cuisine focuses on freshness, regionality and the highest quality. Accompanied by a freshly tapped wheat beer or a good glass of wine, this is the perfect start to a cozy evening after a great motorcycle tour.
Paragliding & hang gliding
Paragliding and hang gliding are very popular. Exposed to the airflow, searching for thermal updrafts and then experiencing fantastic flights - as an active flyer, in tandem or simply as a spectator...
With its excellent thermals, the Emberger Alm is one of the best flying areas in Europe. Numerous championships are held here and many amateur athletes enjoy the great feeling of flying.
The landing site in Berg im Drautal is just 800 meters from our guesthouse (at 680 meters above sea level).
Mountain biking & cycling
We offer clearly laid out cycling maps, which we will of course make available to you. Whether you prefer a fast-paced ride on a racing bike or a leisurely bike excursion: our host Hannes, himself an enthusiastic cyclist, will be happy to help you plan your tour!
Bikes you bring with you can be parked in our lockable garage.
Downhill mountain bike trails are located at nearby Lake Weissensee (12km)

Our guesthouse is only approx. 1 km from the R1 Drau cycle path.
So it's ideal for a stopover and to relax!
Canyoning
Canyoning is also known as gorge hiking. Over thousands of years, the water has carved its way through the different types of rock, forming the most amazing structures that no human architect could have dreamed of.
The ARES team makes it possible to experience these unimagined natural spectacles.
You are immersed in a mysterious, bizarre world.

Our village has a well-maintained 9-hole golf course embedded in nature and located nearby.
It is a challenge for both beginners and advanced golfers. Relax while playing golf in a beautiful landscape.

Also give your children the opportunity to explore the surrounding area in unspoilt nature with fun and games.
Our own small playground in the countryside, right next to our house, as well as the natural Geißlochklamm or Ochsenschlucht gorge are ideal for this.
There, children can move freely in nature and create their own play world.
Perhaps you would like to combine this with a short bike ride and use the barbecue area nearby?
Bathing pleasure
Summer with swimming fun - we can also offer you that in the mountains! The family outdoor pool in Berg with free admission for our house guests and only a 10-minute walk away, also offers a 38-meter-long slide and two pools. Take advantage of the wonderful sunbathing lawn. Also ideal for children!
A beautifully landscaped and newly designed bathing lake is located in the neighboring village of Greifenburg, five kilometers away. On very hot days, we recommend the Weißensee, ten kilometers away. It is the highest bathing lake in the Alps, one of the cleanest lakes in Austria and, although it is located at 930 meters, the water temperature can reach up to 25 degrees.
Sensopark
The "Sensopark" was created in Berg im Drautal in order to learn to grasp nature and the environment again and to understand its meaning. On the 5 senso-meditative hikes, people should learn to recognize nature with all their senses. The paths have been developed with meditative exercises for body and soul and are described in detail in the booklet "Sensopark". The book is available for Euro 7 at the Berg tourist office and from the landlords.

Hiking is the most natural and healthiest form of transportation since mankind has existed. Here in Carinthia and in the immediate vicinity of Berg you can really experience nature. Experience our blooming alpine pastures along clear mountain streams, the fragrant forests and forget everyday life...
