Ice skating

The largest natural ice rink in Europe is located just twelve miles from our house.

Nestled between the surrounding mountains, the Weissensee boasts stable frozen Ice with a covering an area of 6.5 square kilometers. Enjoy the freedom and endless ice (over 11 kilometers in length!) in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Carinthia. Skaters from around the world must tick the magnificent experience of skating for kilometers on end in the magnificent Weissensee, off the bucket-list!

There is also a more modest natural ice rink here in Berg that offers skating and Eisstockschießen; an Austrian version of curling that must be tried! Here enthusiasts can really get their money’s worth and look forward to a warming mulled wine afterwards in Café Hassler!
